Poem by Angela Boto
Original in Spanish – English Translation below:
Hay quienes caundo ven árbol,
Ven un árbol
Hay quienes caundo ven árbol,
Ven vida
Hay quienes caundo ven árbol,
Ven un ser
Hay quienes caundo ven árbol,
Escuchan
Hay quienes caundo ven árbol,
Comprenden
Ayer vi un árbol,
Quise escuchar y comprender,
Pero el árbol me abrazó y
Le llevó hasta sus raíses
Y de sus raises a las raises
De todos los áboles
Y de ahí
A la vibración de los minerals
Y a la canción de las aguas profundas
Y después me llevó a danzar
En el latido de la tierra.
Hay quines caundo ven un árbol,
Son el árbol.

There are those who when they see a tree,
See a tree
There are those who when they see a tree,
See life
There are those who when they see a tree,
See a being
There are those who when they see a tree,
Listen
There are those who when they see a tree,
Understand
Yesterday I saw a tree,
I wanted to listen and understand,
But the tree hugged me and
Took me to her roots
An from her roots to the roots of all of the trees
And from there to the vibration of the minerals
And to the song of the deep waters
And them took me to dance
In the heartbeat of the earth
There are those who when they see a tree
Are a tree.
